"I'm here to talk about some projects using couching. I like to work in series and so I've done a number of them, and this one is called “Arc-i-texture”. It's kind of a made up name that I came up with because the background of the project is textured fabrics and the front of the project are circles that are couched onto it, thus the arc, so its “Arc-i-texture”. I've done a lot of quilts, I started quilting in 1993 and I've made 496 quilts, so I'm only a little bit obsessed about this, and I really enjoy using couching in several of my series. I'm going to talk a little about the basic supplies you need for the project then we'll go on to actually creating a quilt. It should be a pretty simple project where you'll learn the technique of couching, as well as fusing and a little bit about composition as you put them together!" — Carol Taylor

"I purchased this on Friday (video download, no shipping, instant gratification), watched it yesterday (Saturday) and was beyond satisfied! Carol did a fabulous job of explaining everything about her style of art quilts! I know there are a couple of reviewers that were less than satisfied with this particular class, and I also realize that not everyone is expecting the same outcome. But, for me, what makes a great instructor is someone who can take these beautiful quilts and break down the steps in such a way that makes me believe I can achieve the same results! Carol did a fabulous job of explaining why she chooses the different colors and textures she does... That alone would save me a lot of time trying to decide what would make a good composition. Her techniques were so much easier than I expected! Thank you, Carol! I really enjoyed this workshop and cannot wait to try these techniques myself!" —Anita
